# Managing your recurring gifts

> Change the amount, frequency, or card on a recurring gift, or pause or cancel it.

Everything about a recurring gift can be changed by you, any time, without contacting anyone. Start by [signing in](/help/donors/sign-in), then click **Recurring payments** in the menu.

Each recurring gift shows who it goes to, how often it runs, the amount, and the card or bank account it uses.

## Changing the amount or how often you give

1. Click **Edit** on the gift
2. Update the **Amount** or **Frequency**
3. Click **Save changes**

## Changing your card or bank account

1. Click **Edit** on the gift
2. Under **Payment method**, pick a saved card or bank account
3. To use a new one, click **+ Add new**, enter the card or bank account details, and click **Save payment method**
4. Click **Save changes**

The new card or bank account is used starting with your next gift. There's no need to cancel and set the gift up again.

## Pausing a gift

Click **Pause** on the gift. Nothing is charged while it's paused. When you're ready to start again, click **Resume**.

## Canceling a gift

Click **Cancel** on the gift. No future gifts will be charged. Past gifts are not affected and still appear under **Payments** and on your statements.

## Tips

* If a gift has been failing, the card on file has usually expired or been replaced. Updating the payment method fixes it
* You can save more than one card or bank account under **Payment methods** and switch between them
